Four Wheel Mayhem!

Today, while everyone else in my side of the family had a big family birthday party, Louise and I went to 5 Mile Pass and kicked up the dust on four wheelers with her family.

And not all of the fun was had on four wheels. A few nieces also caught a nice new friend (since it a was a catch and release park they couldn't take him home).

A great time was had by all and best of all nobody died!

That Really Brightened My Day

Today started out like any other. I went to work and sat in a million meetings wondering if I would actually get to do anything productive at work, like o say, work. And in the end it all didn't matter. When I could finally get down to getting something done in the late afternoon, the power went out.

And that was the best part of my day. Nothing seems to bring people together quite like a good power outage. You laugh and joke in the ominous darkness. You get to know your neighbors better. I think we need to unplug a little more often. We get so wrapped up in our work that we forget to look at each other as people instead of as to-do items.

It was great.

Settling In

So I haven't blogged in a while. Which isn't really new.

In our new house it felt like we were just house sitting for someone else. Now that we've made our first mortgage payment, it suddenly feels very much like our own house. Funny how the sudden loss of money can do that.
