Why Write?

I've had this other blog for a while and I'm not sure but I suspect nobody reads it. I have been posting some of my short stories (and two of my longer stories) to it but I suspect it has not been well advertized, and thus, not well read. Anyway, its out there if you have time to kill and want to read an amature author's work.

One thing is, I suspect the longer the work, the less likely it is to be read all the way through. My Jane and Henry story is at 70+ pages and still far from completion. Combining all four of the Anaaka stories (only two of which have been posted to the blog) and you get over 100 pages of book to read.

The whole thing begs the question though of why write if nobody is going to read it? I supose it may some day be of value to somebody. After all Emily Dickensen's poems were locked away unpublished until after her death. I'd rather not die though just to get something I've written read. I can write because I enjoy it. That is reason enough.

Maybe I should offer up writer's commentary on this blog to encourage people to read the stories themselves on the other.

Hey take that back. I read your other blog. Most of the time. I've read at least 80% of it.

I think you should have Michael add it to his blogroll. He doesn't have to maybe print it in his book, but at least people won't have to search to find it either. As it is, your links to the other blog just keep getting buried underneath everyone elses on Planet Cleverly. Just a thought!
